.Net 3.5 source to be made available
It's about time. The Delphi development community has enjoyed a free access to their framework (the VCL) since 1994. I'm looking forward to reading WPF and ASP.Net source code. Good job Scott.
What we are seeing is that Microsoft .Net division is moving to a smarter model in leaving the "Not invented here" and actually embracing good ideas that exists somewhere else. They are a platform company and it makes totally perfect sense to open up the source to their framework because they do not make money from the framework itself. They make money from their windows and products installations.
With the DLR, SilverLight and the incoming ASP.Net MVC framework, it is better than ever to become a Microsoft developer.
