Forums Sucks, Especially this one
This is hilariously funny situation
About a month ago I joined an Egyptian forum called
Egypt-Developers, because I found a thread
talking about .net vs java so I wanted to join the talking, and I really enjoyed the discussion, because the forum was full of java guys and most of them were not guru's so it was really easy discussion.
then after a while another thread started
there which was a try to make a cleaner thread to learn both technologies together, so it was interesting, but I found some rules wrote by the Admin ,
he is a Java guy by the way, which most of them are not even logical in a discussion.
these are the rules
- No judgment will be allowed, this thread objective is only learning not comparing.
- All provided information should be supported by reference and the
technology should be released or at least in Beta version. Any Alpha or
future feature may be discussed only after released.
- No discussion on the tools or IDEs unless in the context of providing the needed example of the feature under discussion.
- Any violation of this rule will result in deletion of your post and may
be put your posts under moderation. Posts may be edited by the admin in
order to be compliant with these rules.
- I will be the chairman who manages this thread so please all technical
suggestion should be post in this thread and I will pick them then
deleted them in order to clean the thread and make it focusing on the
current topic.
So as you see
rule #1 is really funny, how can you start a thread talking about Java & .net and you ask people not to judge & compare.
rule #2, You can't mention a feature that it is in a alpha edition, which is not logical too, and this is a try to make the .net guys not to mentions features in C# 3.0 & VB9 & LINQ and lots of other future stuff in .net, which was really unfair
rule #3 Which means don't say the word Visual Studio in the comparison or you will be deleted
rule #4 The killing rule, if you don't obey my rules you will be vanished.
rule #5 Then the power rule, I am the GOD of this place so no one can say something that I don't like, I will delete every post until all people get out.
so if you are a .net developer you will be out of discussion in seconds, and that what happened, I was banned from posting in the forum after less than 24 hours when I wrote my objection about these rules...
So I decided to blog about it to see, which is stronger Blogs, or Forums
Digg It
